TERRELL, Texas — A utility worker was struck and killed by an airborne vehicle on (FM) 429 on Tuesday morning, approximately 11:42 am. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the preliminary investigation indicates a black pickup truck was traveling south on FM 429 when, as of yet to be determined reasons, left the roadway, struck a parked vehicle, and went into a side skid into a culvert.
“Utility workers are often in harms way, enduring hazardous conditions. All efforts should be made to ensure their safety and when tragedy strikes, to be there for the family. Immediate funds are available for family members to cover funeral expenses. We encourage the family to inquire about such funds, that often go undeclared. Further investigations are ongoing that may shine light on the cause of the accident.”
